Aviv Spitz is an Acquisitions and Development intern at 7to8 Productions & Distribution and a Pittsburgh-based writer, director, and producer. He is currently pursuing a degree in Film & Visual Media and Professional Writing at Carnegie Mellon University and is set to graduate in 2027. As a filmmaker, Aviv is most drawn to absurdist comedy and social realism, with a strong commitment to amplifying marginalized voices in an authentic and sometimes experimental way. He often blends documentary and narrative practices to create films that feel surreal.

 

Aviv began working with 7to8 as an Assistant Director and Production Manager on Forte in the fall of 2024, and he will be line-producing the upcoming short, The Scientific Journals of Chiara.

 

Outside of 7to8, Aviv is the co-founder and VP of Carnegie Mellon’s premier film club. In the future, he will be interning with the Netflix Executive Producer, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, and spending a semester at the prestigious FAMU film school in Prague, shooting a film on 16mm.
