Aviv Spitz is the head of Acquisitions and Development at 7to8 Productions & Distribution. A Pittsburgh-based writer and producer, Aviv is currently obtaining a BA at Carnegie Mellon University in Film & Visual Media and Professional Writing and has also studied at the prestigious FAMU film school in Prague (Fall ’25).  Aviv began working with 7to8 as an Assistant Director and Production Manager on Forte in the fall of 2024, and went on to Line Produce Burden of Proof.

Outside of 7to8, Aviv has worked as the assistant to 2x Emmy award-winning TV writer and showrunner Javi Grillo-Marxuach, and with the international non-profit, Rubia Handowrk, to develop video that stories the work of artists in Palestine and Mali. Aviv’s practice is focused in deep empathetic character work, colored by realism, and rooted in class commentary and satire.
