ZAIN ADAMO
DISTRIBUTION & FESTIVALS
Zain Adamo is a Pittsburgh-based director and screenwriter, currently studying Film and English Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. He finds himself continually drawn to themes of nostalgia, performance, and identity, and will likely spend the rest of his life pursuing the answers to the questions they raise.
A Pittsburgh native, Zain has been fortunate enough to work on a number of local projects in recent years. He most recently co-wrote and co-directed the upcoming short Burden Of Proof, his first collaboration with 7to8 Productions. Other upcoming directing projects include Just Passing Through, a jazzy short about a rainy-night reunion between two old friends, and To Me, It Means Everything, a documentary featurette exploring his own family’s history of immigration from Syria to the United States. He’s also had the opportunity to work on a number of local big-budget film and TV productions. He finds the most joy, however, in working closely with friends and peers, creating art and telling the stories that only they can tell.
Outside of his own work, Zain is also the president of Pitt’s filmmaking and networking club, SCENE. This position allows him to coalesce and encourage collaboration amongst a very talented group of undergraduate filmmakers. He hopes that others find, as he once did, a creative outlet and welcoming community in the club.
Zain swears that there’s more to his life outside of these things, but frankly, we’re just not sure. That’s why he’s thrilled to be a part of 7to8, where he can spend his time promoting and encouraging local filmmaking alongside a very dedicated and passionate team of artists. He remains eternally optimistic about what the future holds and can’t wait to get started on his next project.
